Class Syllabus

Syllabus- English 9
Welcome to English 9!  Students need to be prepared for an academically challenging year.  It is important that students participate fully in the learning activities and take pride in their work.  Good attendance is also encouraged as many of our lessons will require group work and participation.
Homework is an important part of the curriculum.  Written assignments, as well as preparation for tests and quizzes, serve as integral parts of homework.  Much of the literature work we do this year will require outside reading.  It is very important that students keep up with all assignments, both in and out of class.  They also need to be prepared each day with the necessary materials and turn in all assignments when due.  No late work will be accepted!  This will help in developing responsibility that I hope will carry over into their daily lives.
Attendance also promotes success.  Students need to be in school in order to learn.  Missing class will affect their learning and grades.  If an absence is necessary, each student is responsible for making up assignments in a timely fashion.  It is up to the student to request assignments when absent.
